NCSCE collaborator and grant recipient Suffolk County Community College is proud to announce the receipt of their third consecutive NSF S-STEM grant, entitled “Support for Undergraduates at the Community College Engaged in STEM Studies” (SUCCESS). Suffolk County Community College is one of a handful of community colleges nationally that has been awarded prestigious NSF grants for STEM scholarships for its students. With the receipt of their latest NSF S-STEM award, “SUCCESS”, Suffolk will have received over 15 years of support from the National Science Foundation with three consecutive back to back grants (2006-2021) for STEM scholarships totaling over $2.1 million. The historic strength and success of Suffolk’s NSF S-STEM scholars highlights the vital role of community colleges, particularly Suffolk, as crucial entry points and valued partners. Suffolk continues to be inspired by the promise and achievements of their NSF S-STEM scholars, who are leveraging their Suffolk STEM experiences at some of the nation’s best educational institutions, and of NSF S-STEM alumni who have completed graduate school and are now employed in STEM fields. The NSF is providing great opportunities to this country’s young people with this scholarship program!
