Dr. Todd Gary, director of the Data Science Institute at Middle Tennessee State University, and formerly a faculty member at Lipscomb University, has been named the first WPC Healthcare Visiting Scholar. WPC Healthcare, which develops, implements, and supports data standards in healthcare, established the Visiting Scholar program to “foster exchange and innovation in data science through collaboration with Tennessee universities.” Dr. Gary’s mandate as a visiting scholar will be to provide research support to WPC Healthcare’s efforts to leverage data science to aid healthcare organizations.
