These are great colleagues who upport NCSCE’s mission advancing science and civic engagement

Hastings Center

https://Thehastingscenter.org  The Hastings Center is the oldest independent, nonpartisan, interdisciplinary research institute focusing on ethical issues in healthcare, science, and technology.  It has a wealth of accessible, research-based and non-partisan resources that can be used in courses to address the ethical dimensions of civically critical science issues, including human reproduction, euthanasia, stem cell research, conflict of interest in research, genomics and a host of others.  Check out their Bioethics Briefings: https://www.thehastingscenter.org/publications-resources/hastings-center-bioethics-briefings/

Right Question Institute

https://rightquestion.org/ Asking good questions is a cornerstone of democratic practice. RQI’s “Question Formulation Technique is a simple, yet powerful strategy to teach students how to formulate their own questions.”  Workshops they offered at SSI in the past demonstrated the effectiveness of this technique for faculty and departments struggling with decision-making challenges, as well as for students. Check out their offerings in teaching and learning: https://rightquestion.org/education/

COMPASS

NCSCE is proud to partner with COMPASS, an organization devoted to advancing the public understanding of science. COMPASS prepares scientists as public communicators and leaders by building their strategic communication skills and connecting them with journalists, policy makers and community leaders, Here is Sarah Sunu’s presentation at this year’s SENCER Summer Institute
