SCI-Midwest and Roosevelt University are pleased to host a series of conversations and a funding opportunity this spring.

The SCI-Midwest Regional Meeting will take place on Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at Roosevelt University’s Schaumburg Campus. This meeting will include:

  • examples and updates on practices that enhance civic engagement, student learning and faculty development,
  • breakout sessions arranged around shared disciplinary, pedagogical and/or community engagement goals, and
  • planning for the future of SENCER work in the Midwest region by exploring funding opportunities, collaborations and thematic goals.

The registration deadline is April 6, and on-site registration will be available. You can register for the meeting here. If you would like to propose a 10-minute talk about SENCER-related work on your campus, you can email an abstract of 150 words or less to Dr. Robert Seiser, Co-Director of SCI-Midwest.

Follow-up virtual conversations for those not able to attend the meeting will take place on April 11th and 12th from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. You can join those conversations here.

In addition, implementation awards will be granted for a variety of work related to the SENCER project goals. Up to ten awards of $600 each will be made to individuals and teams, with priority consideration will be given to first-time applicants and to applicants in states that are included in the SCI-Midwest region. You can find out more information and apply here. The deadline to apply is Saturday, April 15, 2017.
