November 16, 2012 at Rutgers University
8:30 AM to 3:00 PM
The Fall Conference for the MidAtlantic SCI will be on November 16, at Rutgers University on the Cook Campus, the location of the School for Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS). Mark G. Robson, the SEBS Dean for Agricultural and Urban Programs, will host the conference themed “Bringing SENCER to SEBS.” Mark attended the 2012 SSI at Santa Clara and found that SENCER and the courses, projects and programs were a natural fit. All are welcome to come to the Cook Campus Student Center on Friday, November 16, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm for the SCI MidAtlantic Fall Conference.
Rutgers’ tagline is “Jersey Roots, Global Reach” and that will certainly be the case for this meeting. Also attending will be twenty-four visiting scholars from China who are from various institutions in Beijing. Hosted by Rutgers Center for Global Advancement and International Affairs, their goal is to learn more about active learning and teaching styles and strategies that are successful in the American colleges and universities. They will be attending to experience the “SENCER” goals and ideals and learn more about designing courses and linking to civic issues.
